Disney Facilities and Operations Services Costuming are seeking applicants for a Cosmetology Strategy and Initiatives Manager position. Candidates will have a passion for guest and cast service, putting inclusion at the forefront of everything they do. Facilities and Operations Services (FOS) Cosmetology supports all of Walt Disney World in the day-to-day maintenance of wigs, prosthetics, facial hair, and more. You will collaborate with Safety professionals, maintain compliance with regulations, and prepare financial estimates for Cosmetology elements and labor. You will lead and mentor some of the most hard-working cast members in the industry!
You will report to the Manager for Costume Resource Planning & Integration.
This role is a full-time on-site opportunity.
Collaborate with Safety professionals to ensure all new Cosmetology products and processes meet the highest standards of safety and quality.
Foster a safe working environment by maintaining compliance with Company, State, and Federal regulations.
Prepare financial estimates for Cosmetology elements and labor associated with prospective entertainment and character offerings.
Build and nurture strong relationships with Entertainment and Costuming partners, serving as the Cosmetology representative in production meetings for new and seasonal offerings.
Champion an inclusive, innovative, and respectful work environment.
Strategize, manage, and implement innovative solutions to challenges in the WDW Cosmetology operation.
Ensure new Cosmetology-related products and processes are documented for ease of end-user adoption.
5+ years of professional experience in the hair and makeup/Cosmetology field.
Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, overnights, and holidays.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with an eagerness to learn new software applications.
Highly motivated self-starter with proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Experience navigating change, handling confidential information, and balancing competing priorities.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Strong networking and partnership abilities.
Understanding of lifespan and safe application of wigs and prosthetics.
Working knowledge of varying natural hair types, synthetic hair types, and wig construction.
In-depth knowledge of Walt Disney Resort policies and procedures, including applicable Union contracts.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
