Job Overview Jax Spine & Pain Centers in Fernandina Beach, FL is looking for strong Medical Assistants/Scribes for our back office. This position is responsible for providing excellent care to patients and maintaining continuity of care through accurate and thorough documentation, collaborating effectively with all departments. The role will prepare and maintain all aspects of the clinic environment. Requirements High School Graduate or GED required. One or more years of experience as a medical assistant, CMA preferred. Graduating from an accredited MA program acceptable. Procedure Room Tech experience preferred. Able to measure and record vital signs, manually and electronically. Pain management office experience is a plus. Basic computer knowledge required. Must possess strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Able to multi-task efficiently and effectively in busy and/or stressful situations. Able to read, analyze, interpret, and write medical records and documentation. Able to record patient information, including a working knowledge of medical terminology. Job Responsibilities Review chart, schedule, and medical records to prepare for patient interactions. Generate appropriate forms for patient education, informed consent, referrals, prescriptions, and other documentation. Obtain medical records, lab results, and other information as indicated. Inspect the clinic to ensure a sanitary and fully stocked environment with functional equipment. Ensure appropriate medication, supplies, and personnel are available for scheduled interactions. Communicate with internal & external resources to procure necessary supplies and information. Collaborate with departments to ensure a seamless patient experience. Communicate with physicians, physicians’ assistants, and other care providers. Provide direct patient care, including measuring vital signs, recording patient history, positioning for procedures, administering injections and patient education. Assist providers during assessments, examinations, procedures, and other interactions. Document and record patient condition, treatment, expectations, and progress. Generate prescriptions as ordered, including electronic and paper orders. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, HIPAA, universal precautions, and clinic policies. Perform other duties as assigned and serve as a preceptor for new employees when required.
