About the Role A local law firm is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support our attorneys and legal team. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen understanding of legal procedures and documentation. As a Legal Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of our legal department by managing case files, preparing documents, and assisting with research and client communications. --- Key Responsibilities * Provide administrative support to attorneys, paralegals, and other legal staff. * Draft, proofread, and format legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, and correspondence. * Manage and organize case files, both physical and electronic. * Conduct basic legal research and summarize findings. * Schedule meetings, hearings, and court dates; maintain attorney calendars. * Communicate with clients, courts, and other stakeholders as needed. * Assist in billing, timekeeping, and other office management tasks. * Ensure confidentiality and compliance with legal and ethical standards. --- Qualifications * Associate's degree or paralegal certificate preferred. * Prior experience in a legal setting (law firm, corporate legal department, or government agency) required. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal management software (e.g., Clio, LexisNexis, or similar). * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. * Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. * Professional demeanor and commitment to client service.
