Job Description

The automotive DMV Title Clerk is responsible for processing and filing DMV paperwork to establish or transfer our guest' vehicle registrations in a timely manner. This position is one of the most important team member positions at David Wilson's Villa Ford of Orange. This position is key to ensuring that our guest leave 100% satisfied with their overall experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • File new and used registrations through the DMV first line provider (DMV Desk) and the DMV, while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Process wholesale paperwork for auctions and dealers.
  • Clean DMV schedules weekly, update notes as to reason for delay.
  • Issue DMV refund checks to our guests.
  • Respond to our guest's inquiries by phone, mail and/or email.
  • Review applications for accuracy and ensure all information is complete.
  • Comply and maintain a complete list of all outstanding title work.
  • Acknowledge delays and report to management on the status of any missing or problem titles.
  • Prepare a list each week to the managers of all outstanding titles that cannot be transferred or licensed due to incomplete paperwork.
  • Ensure timely return of all outstanding "Return to Dealer" items.
  • Process annual renewal of dealer tags on all company owned vehicles.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with the sales and finance team as well as the business office to complete their paperwork efficiently.
  • Remain updated with new DMV rules and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2 years motor vehicle registration experience.
  • Must possess good organization skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel.
  • Dealer experience and business partner automation (BPA), DMV Desk a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Clear focus on delivering work of the highest quality.
  • Maintain professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • A positive team player attitude.
