Job Description

A well-established and growing Midwest general contractor is seeking an accomplished Chief Financial Officer to join its executive leadership team. This role offers the opportunity to oversee the financial strategy of a respected construction organization with long-term stability and significant growth potential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership for all financial operations, reporting, and analysis
  • Lead long-range financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes
  • Oversee multi-entity financial structures, cash management, and WIP reporting
  • Develop and implement financial controls, risk management, and compliance protocols
  • Partner with executive leadership on strategic initiatives, growth planning, and operational performance
  • Maintain banking, bonding, insurance, and external advisory relationships
  • Guide and mentor the internal accounting and finance team
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial statements and organizational reporting

Qualifications

  • Significant senior-level financial leadership experience within a general contractor or large construction-related organization
  • Strong understanding of construction financial management, including revenue recognition, WIP, and multi-project forecasting
  • Demonstrated ability to operate within complex financial environments and high-volume portfolios
  • Experience managing multi-entity structures, joint ventures, or divisional finance operations
  • Proven track record influencing strategic decisions at the executive level
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with operational leadership
  • Relocation to the Midwest required
