Titles:

Data Center Cable Tech 1: 2-3 years of expeirence

pay rate – $22-$24/hourly

Data Center Cable Tech 2: 3-5 years of experience

Pay rate - $28/hourly

Duration: 6 months with extensions - Potential to convert Permanent

Interview: one and dones, getting avail from the team – start date is first week of Dec

Location : New Albany, OH

• DC & fiber experience is not necessary, but they should have background in at least telecom & knowledge of fiber & patch cords.
• Scope - They would be auditing fiber patch cords. Troubleshooting & testing, cleaning it if necessary, and re-terminating and repatching.
• Customer facing
• BG required/ DS must be done within 7 days of hire.
• PPE will be provided by Black Box and our normal list of tools is not required.
• Construction boots are required, but they don't have to be steel toed
• Turner is the GC
• Start time is 7am and they will work 5 10s and Saturdays 8 hours

• Have a reliable source of daily transportation.
• Read, write, and understand English.

What You Bring to the Table:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• 2-3 years of telecom experience (Data Center Environment preferred).
• OSHA 10 preferred – must obtain within 90 days of hire.
• First Aid / CPR certificate within 90 days of hire.
• Fiber Optic Association Certifications preferred.
• BICSI Technical Certifications preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position will not have direct reports.

Work Location and Travel: On-site daily. This position is generally expected to require minimal overnight travel (≈5%). The individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as may be required by Black Box.

Work Environment and Physical Demands: The standard work environment for this position is indoors, however work outside is at times required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to sit, use hands, stoop, kneel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The individual is frequently required to stand and walk. The individual must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The individual may also be required to work from heights and in tight, confined spaces. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
